All Specialists / Gay Tucciarone
Orange Kids Specialist
What is your ministry background?
I started in children’s ministry as a volunteer over 30 years ago at Compassion Church (in Savannah, GA), I was on staff there for 15 years as an Elementary small group and volunteers coordinator. When I moved to Atlanta in 2011, I continued as a Preschool small group volunteer, and am still involved in Preschool ministry at my church Cumberland Community Church!
What is your favorite part of being an Orange Specialist?
I love being able to have conversations with leaders to dream about possibilities and then come up with a practical plan of how to achieve those goals they’ve set. I also love to encourage leaders and remind them of how capable they are!
What are your 3 must read ministry books?
A New Kind of Leader (Reggie Joiner), Didn’t see it Coming (Carey Nieuwhof), Road Back to You (Ian Morgan Cron/Suzanne Stabile) (because you can’t lead anybody if you don’t know yourself!)
What are your top 3 pet peeves?
People eating with their mouth open, drivers blowing their horn at me on I-285, household members putting back empty containers of any kind
Do you have any skills that most people don’t know about?
I ran over myself with my car and lived to tell about it (it took mad skills)
If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
On a beach!!
Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A social worker
How do you want people to remember you?
As someone with a great sense of humor (I’ve got jokes), always willing to help, 100% dedicated to my family
What do you want to make sure you do before you die?
Get a tattoo
If you had $100 and the day to yourself, what would you do?
Fill up the gas tank and drive to the nearest beach, sit and watch the waves crash and smell the salt water breeze!
